Cyprus is the perfect wedding and honeymoon destination for couples seeking a wow factor wedding not too far from home and without breaking the bank.
It is a wonderful place to get married as the formalities are far simpler than most other destinations. It’s a straightforward process for British Nationals and you really can have the wedding of your dreams in a stunning location for a fraction of the cost of a UK wedding. You can marry in the grounds of a number of beautiful hotels, at a registry office unlike any at home or in one of the many churches on the island. When in Cyprus, choose from the up and coming resort of Limassol, the secluded Pissouri and Coral Bay or opt for the humble seaside town of Paphos. Whichever your choice, you will not be disappointed.
If you are looking to be by the sea, for a typical Cypriot setting and great food, Coral Beach has it all. Set away from the well-known resorts of Cyprus, Coral Beach feels very private and the perfect place to hold an intimate ceremony and reception for your guests. Complete with its own harbour, you can marry close to the sea and if you choose a later time for your wedding, you will have the pleasure of seeing one of the most beautiful sunsets on the island.
When we arrived we got to sample some of the finest canapes I have seen and tasted and the evening meal we had was delicious and beautifully presented. For a wonderful wedding feast to remember, Coral Beach will be a safe bet for your special day.
Treat yourself to a room with a view (and its own private pool!) or a stunning garden room surrounded by sweet bougainvillea. The staff here are very friendly and the wedding planners have experience of organising numerous weddings and have exceptional attention to detail to ensure your day goes to plan.
Wedding with a Wow Factor
Take to the seas in a mega yacht worth £10 million and have a day to remember in the Cypriot sunshine. Begin your day by being picked up in a convertible white London Taxi and have your guests enjoy their journey to the ceremony in a white London bus. Take to the beautifully decorated deck to enjoy your ceremony before having your wedding pictures taken by the romantic Paphos Castle. When you return to the yacht, you will be greeted with a cocktail reception before setting sail to a nearby cove where you will enjoy your wedding breakfast on board. Dance the night away and enjoy a wonderful firework display before making your way back to shore. Your guests will depart but you will have a night on board to enjoy the honeymoon suite.
The Family Friendly One
The Olympic Lagoon in Paphos was opened in June 2015 and offers a family friendly atmosphere. The hotel has wonderful facilities for children, a range of places to eat out and large open spaces in which to enjoy the wonderful weather Cyprus has to offer. There are many venues for brides to choose from when thinking about marrying here. You could have your ceremony in the private garden looking out to sea before heading to the Captain’s Deck for a cocktail reception. My favourite reception venue was the gardens with lovely views out to sea and then when the night draws in, head to Chillax and dance the night away.
The Amathus Beach Hotel in Limassol ticks all the boxes. With an enviable sea front location, one of the best fish restaurants on the island, beautiful surroundings, one of the best spas you will find and a host of wedding venues to choose from, this has to be first choice for the modern chic bride. The hotel offers understated luxury and overperforms every step of the way. With perfectly positioned venues offering guests a romantic sunset view and delicious food to make your day memorable it’s difficult to find something not to like about this stunning hotel.
Being tied to the Four Seasons next door, guests can take advantage of the dine around programme and really experience the best of both worlds. Families can enjoy the wonderful pool, beach and facilities just for them and couples can make the most of the beautiful private pool in the junior suites making this an ideal honeymoon location also.
Just a few of our other favourites
Elias Beach, Limassol
Marry on a pier looking out to sea and even have your cocktail reception and wedding breakfast here. Make the most of the stunning sunset and the wonderful value this beautiful location offers.
Columbia Beach Resort & Hotel, Pissouri
Set in a Mediterranean style village, the 4* Hotel and 5* Resort both offer tranquility, top class facilities and a very modern chapel in which to marry. The stunning and continuous views across the pool into the sea make this a perfect wedding or honeymoon hotel.
Alexander The Great, Paphos
The wedding venue here is stunning and perfect for weddings all year round as it provides shelter from the blistering summer sunshine and if it did happen to rain, you would still be able to enjoy this stunning location.
Understated beauty and elegance sum up this hotel’s offering. You can marry on the deck overlooking the quiet pool and then hold your cocktail reception on the terrace followed by dinner in the modern Amorosa restaurant with its doors opening onto the candlelit terrace looking out to sea.
The hotel’s grounds are perfectly manicured offering couple a host of wedding venues. The picture perfect chapel near the entrance to the hotel is just one of these but there are a selection of indoor and outdoor venues which are all perfect wedding venues meaning this is possibly the best location for year round weddings in Cyprus.
Athena Royal and Athena Beach, Paphos
Offering two sea front wedding venues, an adults only hotel, a family friendly hotel and delicious food, these two properties together span the generations and bring everyone together for a memorable day.
Each hotel has something very special to offer its guests, bridal party and honeymoon couple. Most will try to offer upgrades, candlelit dinners, champagne breakfasts, free venue hire at certain times in the year, complimentary cocktail receptions and even upgrades to your board basis. The hotels have their own experienced wedding planners to guide you every step of the way to ensure your wedding goes to plan.
Nothing is impossible here.
