Las Vegas and The Grand Canyon

Love it or loathe it, this is one of the world’s most incredible cities. The glittering lights and shimmering pools of Las Vegas appear like a mirage out of the Nevada Desert.

With dazzling casinos, bejewelled showgirls, top international shows and the infamous strip – there’s a high octane buzz to glitzy Las Vegas.
Luxury Las Vegas holidays, flamboyant, extravagant and simply unmissable. A shimmering mirage in the middle of the Nevada desert. All neon lights and live entertainment, Las Vegas is a monumental amusement centre crammed with colourful casinos, swish shopping malls, top-name shows and innumerable restaurants.

With jaw-dropping sights around every corner it’s not just the casinos that draw millions of visitors to the city every year. Theatrically-themed hotels, choreographed fountains, world-class shows and spectacular free entertainment make it an extraordinary place to visit even if you never set foot in a casino.
For an adrenalin rush, hope Lady Luck’s on your side in the casinos, twist and dive on some of the world’s most spectacular roller-coasters or try a thrilling helicopter tour over the Grand Canyon – the Colorado River flowing almost a mile below the rim and sweep over Hoover Dam, where the beautiful man-made Lake Mead beckons with cooling cruises on board a traditional paddle wheel vessel.

The Grand Canyon is truly larger than life. Imagine standing at the edge of a crevasse so huge you cannot see the end, and so deep that ten 40-storey buildings stacked up would still not reach the top. At 277 miles long and 6,000 feet deep, the Grand Canyon, a World Heritage Site, is considered one of the greatest of all natural wonders.

The Canyon is a mosaic of five of the seven life zones found in North America and three of the four desert types found on the continent. Over 1,500 plant, 355 bird, 89 mammal, 47 reptile, nine amphibian and 17 fish species live here. Right at the bottom of this indescribable natural wonder snakes the mighty Colorado River, looking small and ineffectual against the sheer scale of the canyon it created.
